To commemorate a hiking and camping trip along the Appalachian Trail, designer Judy Joyce created a camping journal. "A camping journal," Joyce says, "is a great way to create and capture the moments of camping with family and friends" A camping journal not only captures camping activities, but can become a camping activity, as well. Bring along some camping-themed stencils, templates, markers and small albums in waterproof bags. When down-time or a rainy day hits, spend the time journaling and designing a page to which photos can be added later. - To create whimsy, add animal tracks along the page or parade a bear or moose motif all around the edges of the page.
- Prepare a page for a picture of your campsite.
- Have a contest in which different members of the family decorate a page to commemorate the trip.
