The frames, the embellishments and the page title have all been glammed up by Mother Nature's glitter: sand! This page was created with sand taken from a recent vacation trip to Cozymel.

    Materials:

Xyron 900 with Acid-Free Permanent Adhesive cartridge
    12" x 12" paper
    8.5" x 11" paper (one translucent, one medium-dark shade)
Sizzix machine and alphabet dies (Fun Serif used for this example)
glitter (starbright gold, and micro fine holographic)
    gold leaf flakes (gold dust)
    sand
    permanent markers
general supplies: scissors, ruler, ocean or beach-pattern sheet, utility knife

Sand adds a natural texture, which is augmented by the additional of clear and golden glitter.

    1. To create page title, prepare two tone letter strip and cut-out letters on the Sizzix.

    2. Cut translucent paper and run through Xyron. Remove the clear mask, then trim the excess paper backing. Flip and run face down through Xyron. Remove backings and center on darker paper (figure A) cut to 4" x 8.25".

    3. Sprinkle center of piece with gold and clear glitter. Shake to remove excess.

    4. Run decorated strip through Xyron. Leave clear mask and backing on.

    5. Center die-cut pieces over decorated strip, place on cutting pad and use Sizzix die-cut machine to cut.

    6. To prepare the double-sided torn bottom sand strip, first tear a 2" x 12" strip from cardstock for the bottom sand.

    7. Place letters and trace with permanent marker.

    8. Run both sides of sand through Xyron to create double-sided adhesive strip.

    9. Remove backing from letters and place "Beach Fun" title on sand (figure B)

    10. Drop gold flakes onto exposed adhesive (figure C). Sprinkle with sand and shake off excess.

    11. Remove backing and align with bottom edge.

    12. Mat photos and create gold fleck sand frames. Run cropped photos through the Xyron and mount to paper. Trim to leave a 1/8" border.

    13. To create gold flake/sand outer frames, cut matting from cardstock 1" - 2" larger than mounted photos. Run matting through Xyron to make double-sided adhesive. Place mounted picture on one exposed adhesive side.

    14. Drop gold flakes and sand onto the exposed adhesive.

    15. Position and mount framed photos to page.

    16. Use same techniques to add glitter and sand to sea shell and ocean-motif embellishments and add to page as desired.
