Alternately, acid-free flower stickers can be trimmed and applied to the page for the same effect.

Glassine protectors can be used to add dimensional flowers or boutonneires directly to the page.

Want to borrow some of the beauty from your wedding to add to your scrapbook pages? Try Michele Gerbrandt's technique for pressing special flowers to embellish your pages.

    Materials:

Flowers from bouquet, centerpieces or boutonniere
    Large book
    Heavy phone directory
    Acid-free clear liquid adhesive
    Green acid-free pen
    12" x 12" scrapbook page

    1. Begin by pressing blossoms. Position flowers and leaves on white paper, then fold paper in half. Press the folded page in center of heavy book (figure A). Place book flat on table, then add more weight by placing heavy phone directory on top of the book.

    2. Once flowers have been pressed (from a few days to a few weeks), remove from book.

    3. Use green pen to draw fern fronds (figure B), leaves or other designs inspired by nature directly onto scrapbook page. Draw design in random pattern.

    4. Then, add flowers to page using clear acid-free adhesive (figure C). Tip: Apply glue to page rather than to back surface of flower, which is often too fragile.

    5. Position on page, taking care to keep pressed flowers from touching photographs.
