The Queen of Clean®, Linda Cobb, demonstrates how to clean the shower. Maintaining and Cleaning Marble Materials and Ingredients: 1/3 part fabric softener 2/3 parts water Spray bottle Soft cloth Bucket of clean water (optional) Micro-fiber cloth (optional) Clean Shield - Pour the mixture of fabric softener and water into a spray bottle.
- Spray the solution onto the marble and wipe with a soft cloth and buff.
Tip: If you have a micro-fiber cloth, simply dip it into a bucket of water and wipe the solution until the marble is clean. A Royal Suggestion: Use a product such as Clean Shield on your shower. It turns hard-to-clean surfaces into non-stick cookware. Apply with a soft cloth, let dry and buff with a clean cloth. Getting Rid of Mildew and Cleaning Grout Materials and Ingredients: 1 part baking soda 1 part bleach Bucket Cleaning brush or old toothbrush Rubber gloves - Pour the baking soda and bleach into a bucket and mix. Please be sure to wear rubber gloves when cleaning grout.
- Apply the paste generously to the grout, patting it on.
- Use an old toothbrush or cleaning brush to scrub (figure A) the grout.
- Rinse with plenty of water
Tip for Cleaning a Tub: - If you have a fiberglass tub, it should be cleaned differently than porcelain. White vinegar -- heated and poured into a spray bottle -- works wonders on fiberglass. Simply spray on and wipe off with a soft or micro-fiber cloth. After 10 or 15 minutes, pour more white vinegar on a clean sponge and scrub the entire tub, rinse well and dry.
Tips for Cleaning a Porcelain Sink: - Make a cleaning agent paste with 1 part powdered alum (a bleaching agent that can be found in most drugstores or where pickling supplies are sold) and 1 part lemon juice, mix, apply to the porcelain and use a sponge (you can wet it down with more lemon juice) to scrub until clean.
- To clean the sink fixtures, use a fabric softener sheet. If this doesn't do the trick, use a sponge sprayed with white vinegar. Apply, wipe dry and buff with a soft cloth.
The Queen's Dirty Little Secrets - Sprinkle salt on 1/2 a lemon and rub on copper and brass fixtures to get them clean.
