Dress up a small foyer with a simple but dramatic wall shelf made from decorative corbels and glass shelving.
|
Nancy Golden, host of DIY's Decorating and Design, shows how to make a foyer wall shelf out of two corbels and a piece of glass shelving. Materials: Wood or plastic corbels Glass shelf Protective discs - Decide how high on the wall you want to place the shelf (a good average height is 36").
- Attach the corbels to the wall according to the type of hardware supplied. They should be attached to studs for security. (Note: If your walls are drywall and there is no stud into which you can anchor the hardware, you will need to use toggle bolts.)
- Adhere clear plastic or rubber discs to the tops of the corbels to keep the glass from slipping.
- Lay the glass across the corbels and accessorize as you wish.
