Beautiful hanging tapestries can be yours for a few dollars and a little creative thinking.

DIY Decorating and Design host Nancy Golden shares several ideas for creating hanging tapestries that look authentic -- and cost a lot less than the real thing. - Tapestry pillow tops are available for about $6 a pair. Simply staple them to wooden canvas stretchers and edge with an innovative trim that looks like upholstery tacks -- but comes on a roll.
- You can also mount the panels on stretchers and then frame them with expensive-looking frames, old or new.
- If you don't mind spending a bit more, you can get wool tapestry panels for about $450. Some come with both hanging brackets and rod pockets; others have nail holes in the back, or you can attach drapery hooks and rings and then display the tapestry on a decorative curtain rod
