Good crafters never let anything go to waste. With a little artistry and imagination, you can turn recycled materials and supplies into exciting new creations. Crafty Kids host Diana Canova talks with guest Christy Feke to learn how recycled materials can find new life in crafting. Cardboard Tubes and Paper Plates Instead of throwing away the cardboard tubes from paper towels, wrapping paper or toilet paper, why not recycle them into a decorative model chair (figure A)? This can be done by attaching the rolls together to create the chair's seat, back and legs. Each chair can be personalized by painting it with your favorite colors. Additional uses for recycled materials include the following: - Paper plates dressed up and turned into picture frames (figure B )
- foam trays cut into squares and decorated to make one-of-a-kind stamps.
