    This unique tuxedo wrap is easy to do and great for a gentleman's gift.

    The tuxedo wrap is a great way to dress up an ordinary shirt box, and gift-wrapping expert Juanita Lewis demonstrates how.

    Materials:

    Gift in a rectangular box
    White gift paper
    Black gift paper
    Red 1 1/2" satin ribbon
    Scissors
    Tape
    12" ruler
    Markers
    Glue

    Tuxedo Shirt

    1. Measure and trim white gift-wrapping to size. Calculate the length of paper needed by adding the six sides of the box. The width of the paper should be one length of the box plus one depth.

    2. Fold the paper in half, and crease to mark the center line. From the fold, mark 1", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 4", 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2" and 6".

    3. Form a 1/2" pleat away from the center fold at the 1" notch, as well as at the 2 1/2", 4" and 5 1/2" notches.

    4. Duplicate this on the opposite side of the center fold. Crease to create "shirt pleats."

    5. Use tape to secure the pleats along the edge of the paper.

    6. Align the center fold crease and symmetrical pleating on the top front side of the box, even with the bottom edge. Wrap toward the back and secure with tape (figure A).

    7. Tuck and fold the paper that extends beyond the box. Tape.

    Collar

    1. Determine the required length of white paper by measuring the exact circumference of the box. The width is 4".

    2. Fold 4" paper in half to 2".

    3. Place the collar around the neck of the box, 1" from the edge, starting at the center front, wrapping it around the back and to the center front. Tape at the center front and center back (figure B).

    4. Bend the corners of the collar, forming a triangle fold to create a wing-tip collar (figure C).

    Tuxedo Sash

    1. Using black paper, measure around the circumference of the box, plus 3", for the length.

    2. Measure the depth of the box, plus 11", for the width.

    3. On both sides of the length, mark notches at 1" (#1), 2" (#2), 3" (#3), 4" (#4), 5"(#5), 6" (#6), 7" (#7), 8" (#8), 9" (#9), 10" (#10) and 11" (#11).

    4. At notch #1, fold pleat 1" under to the wrong side.

    5. Form a 1" pleat at notch #4 toward the first fold.

    6. Form a 1" pleat at notch #7 in the same direction.

    7. Form the last 1" pleat at notch #10 in the same direction.

    8. Tape on the edges to hold pleats down.

    9. Center the pleated sash around the box, with the last pleat 1" from the edge. Tape on the back of the box. Tuck and fold excess paper around the bottom end of the box, and secure with tape.

    Bow Tie

    1. Fold approximately 1 1/2 yards of 1 1/2" red satin ribbon in half lengthwise into a narrow 3/4" ribbon.

    2. Starting from under the back side, toward the center front, create a two-loop tie bow at the center front (figure D).

    3. Puff out the loops, and trim the ribbon ends to create a formal bow tie. The ribbon will conceal the collar line.

    Optional: Glue white or black dress buttons down the center front of the shirt.
