    Figure A

Designer Kurt Cyr explains how he made trays with foliage imprints, using pressed leaves and spray paint.

    Materials:

    Tray
Spray paint in red, gold and black
    Spray adhesive
    Ferns that have been pressed
    Polyurethane

    1. Spray-paint the tray red. Let dry.

    2. Spray-paint the tray gold. Let dry.

    3. Spray adhesive onto the backs of pressed ferns, and press them onto the tray.

    4. Dust the surface with black spray paint--a light coating over the ferns.

    5. Remove the ferns, and apply two coats of polyurethane (figure A).
