    Materials --

    Gold hoop earrings with an open hatch
    Small beads, the same width as the earring hoops
    26-gauge gold wire
    Wire cutters
    Round nose pliers

    1. Cut a piece of wire 36" to 48" long.

    2. Start at the end of the earring hoop with the latch and wrap 12-15 coils snugly and tightly clockwise around the hoop (figure A).

    3. String a bead on the wire and wrap it so that it sits up on the outside edge of the hoop. Wrap another coil without a bead.

    4. Continue all around the hoop, alternating a beaded coil with a plain coil. Keep the beads sitting on the outside perimeter of the hoop (figure B).

    5. When you get near the end of the hoop, wrap 12-15 coils without beads, tight and snug.

    6. Trim off any excess wire and make sure the end fits snugly to the inside of the hoop.
