    Here's a close-up of Michelle's unique place setting!

Michelle Seger enjoys dining outdoors at her Atlanta home. Even though it may be an informal party, Michelle adds a decorative touch with place settings she makes herself. The look is easily created with items found in most craft or flower shops.

To create the place settings Michelle demonstrates here, you'll need eggcups ( figure A), floral sticks, bird ornaments, artificial moss or grass and green olives. Michelle chose rosemary, thyme, azalea and holly leaves from her garden.

    1. To begin, create a small nest from the artificial grass and place it in the eggcup.

    2. Tie rosemary, thyme, azalea and holly to a floral stick, and place them in the cup.

    3. Add an ornamental bird (figure B). Then take the green olive, spike it on a floral stick and place it in the cup. You have created a place setting that should cost no more than a dollar. Write your guest's name on decorative paper and enjoy your party!
