As a finishing touch, why not sew on coins for luck?

It's time to complete the vest by adding the finishing touches and constructing the garment.

Collar: Cut strips of purple and green fabric 1-1/2" wide and sew them together . Cut the pieced fabric into 5" lengths and sew them together for the length of the collar (figure A). Add iron-on interfacing, sew ends, turn right side out and press.

    1. Sew the embellished fronts and back at the shoulder with right sides together. Do the same with the (main print) lining. Press the seams open.

    2. Stay-stitch around the curve of the neck and clip on both sets.

    3. Pin and sew the collar onto the (main print) lining with right sides together (figure B).

    4. Place the embellished layer and the lining with right sides together. Sew around all sides except the side seams (figure C).

    5. Clip the neck curve again and the armhole curves. Turn right side out.

    6. Sew bugle beads onto the purple fabric according to directions in the book.

    7. Sew the side seams according to the pattern.
