    Flat lining is a fishing technique where the bait drifts away from the boat at or near the water surface.

    Setting up your rod and reel for flat lining is easy. All you need is a 100-pound test line hooked through a snap swivel. For bait, Greviskis recommends a double-hooked ballyhoo (figure A). Throw out your line about 125 feet leaving a little slack.

    This type of fishing is used to catch Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel.
