    Installing the Second (Rear) Rod Holder

    1. Measure 30" in front of the first rod holder (figure A) and lay down a mark, then measure to find the center and bring it out a couple inches toward the edge of the boat (figure B). This will keep the lines from getting tangled when trolling.

    2. When drilling the hole, position it outward at a 45-degree angle, then follow the steps used while installing the first rod holder to finish the installation.

      Note: If the gunnel on your boat is thin, you may need to install a backing plate to keep the hardware from pulling back through

    3. To install the front two rod holders, you will need a 15-degree angled rod holder, then follow the same steps for the previous rod holders for installation.

    With all four rod holders installed, you can see how the 45-degree angle separates each line to prevent tangling (figure C).
