On August 14 at 9 p.m. ET, DIYs hugely successful Blog Cabin, the first-ever interactive home building series, returns for a second season. In January of this year the world was invited to log on to DIYNETWORK.COM to participate in "citizen design" to help create a waterfront vacation home to be built by a roster of DIY expert hosts and documented in a 13-part TV series. Host Ahmed Hassan and eleven experts from DIYs most popular home improvement shows walk viewers through each step of the build process. And while the cabin is under construction, Hassan blogs online and reveals behind-the-scenes out takes. Once complete, viewers can log back on to DIYNETWORK.COM for a chance to win the cabin which will be given away to one lucky sweepstakes winner!
Building on its roster of programs and personalities that build, educate and entertain, DIY introduces Deconstruction, a new series that takes improvement to the next level. Premiering July 2 at 9 p.m. ET, pro handyman Matt Blashaw proves that to truly understand what youre building, sometimes you need to take it apart! Tune-in every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. to watch Blashaw conduct fun-filled and innovative experiments to answer questions like: How do you pressure-treat wood? Is home insulation really fire retardant? And is granite really worth the expense? Plus, field trips to research labs and testing facilities give viewers a backstage pass into the high-tech world of home improvement.
With a better understanding of the science of home-improvement, do-it-yourselfers, novices and experts alike wont want to miss carpenter Amy Wynn Pastor in DIYs new series, Make a Move. Premiering July 16 at 3 p.m. ET, Amy helps people on the move tackle the jobs that need to get done in the midst of all the chaos. From patching walls to refinishing floors to building custom cabinets, Pastor and her crew of DIY experts help ensure a smooth transition from old to new.
Also, on July 13 at 8 p.m. ET, viewers can catch Amy Wynn Pastor as she hosts the first half-hour installment of DIYs two-part special, Project MVP. DIY called in the help of local baseball hero, Philadelphia Phillies shortstop and reigning National League MVP Jimmy Rollins, to turn a dilapidated conference room into a state-of-the-art fitness center at a North Philadelphia Recreation Center. The second installment of this special will premiere on September 18 and will feature former San Francisco 49ers MVPs Jerry Rice and Steve Young.
DIY keeps the warm months of summer rolling as it takes to the road with an all-new edition of the popular, primetime series Celebrity Rides. In this latest installment entitled Celebrity Rides: Dillon and the Rebel, the network puts the spotlight on Entourage star Kevin Dillon who over the course of four half-hour episodes, sets out to build out his very own 1955 Porsche Spyder. Premiering September 3 at 10:30 p.m. ET, the series features Dillon as he creates a replica of the same car James Dean made famous 50 years ago. And on September 28 at 7 p.m. ET, DIY will recap the series in a one-special, Celebrity Rides: Dillon and the Rebel Special.
