    episode DRVR-109

When an RV can't be stored at home, owners use an off-site RV storage facility, and the road vehicle must be prepped for storage.

Host Gary Bunzer shows the Brown family how to dress the RV with tire wraps and window covers. Caring for the exterior also involves removing fiberglass oxidation and black streaks. When maintaining slide-outs, it's important to treat the rubber seals and lubricate the slide out mechanism.

    1. Determine what types of surfaces you have on your coach. This will ensure you use the correct cleaner on each surface. For example, RV's can have metal, aluminum siding and plastic pieces.

Note: There are a variety of products on the market for cleaning the exterior surface of your motorhome.

    2. Look for black streaks (figure A) on roof and side areas.

    3. Spray black streak cleaner on cloth and rub black streak away.

    4. It's important to make sure that the RV roof stays clean. Using the correct cleaner for the type of material your roof is made of clean the roof using a kitchen mop.

    5. Clean the slide-out area.

    6. Spray slide-out area with rubber seal treatment (figure B) and make sure it's lubricated completely. Rub in treatment with finger.

    7. Wipe off excess with clean, dry cloth.

    8. Repeat several times a year.
