Materials:ladder-mount bike rack Velcro® ties bungee cords Tool: screwdriver - Install the bike rack (figure A) per the manual instructions.
- Check the bike for safety by making sure the "minimum insertion" lines are not exposed--but locked in.
- Do a thorough tire inspection and make sure the tires are inflated properly.
- Do a brake inspection by squeezing the brake levers, and if the level touches the handle bar the brakes need to be adjusted.
Inspect the brake pads and make sure they make contact with the rim (figure B)--and not the tires or spokes. Make sure the brake pad "wear indicators" (the small cutouts on the brake pads) are still visible. If they aren't the pads have worn down and it's time to change them. - Place bike or bikes on the rack and secure with Velcro ties and the bungee cords (figure C).
